RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) being a dedicated short-range communication technology is same like a barcode identification system, but there is a major difference between the two. In bar code scanning, line-of-sight access is required, but in RFID it is not required. RFID is grouped under the generic Automatic Identification (Auto ID).
